OGAB® RAIL Advanced TRS®

Utilising patented Active Flow Control technology, Ogab® has developed a breakthrough system that decreases aerodynamic drag on trains to reduce fuel consumption by more than 10%.

During testing, Ogab® has achieved a 22.34% reduction in aerodynamic drag, a reduction that would make our trains more efficient and kinder to the environment. Powered by energy that would otherwise be lost, our Advanced TRS® technology yields up to 11% reduction in fuel consumption whilst simultaneously helping to cut C02 emissions.

Our Advanced TRS® tests with new and modified technology within the rail industry shows a promising future for our safe, reliable and sustainable innovations.

The majority of inter-city transportation of passengers is via trains. As a result, rail transport is responsible for a significant portion of both fuel and electricity consumption as well as CO2 emissions.

Standard UK passenger trains achieve speeds of 125 miles per hour as a result of their streamlined body. The trains need to be as aerodynamic as possible.

With Advanced TRS® we can achieve up to a 22.34% reduction in aerodynamic drag. Consequently, these trains can achieve faster speeds, further reducing travel time of this transport while saving energy and lowering emissions.

This results in a 22.39% reduction of the drag coefficient for a train compared to those without our Active Flow Control technology.

How It Works.

This significant reduction in drag coefficient could achieve an incredible fuel saving of over 10%. This results in a huge saving in cost as well as less fuel-related CO2 emissions, heavily reducing the environmental impact of our rail networks.

Implementing our Advanced TRS® system can make train services run more efficiently and at a lower cost too.

This reduction in cost could mean more affordable travel for passengers. This is particularly important in a market where customers are feeling the financial impact of year-on-year ticket price increases.
